More Than Turkeys
Virtual Food Drive

The ongoing government shutdown and delayed CalFresh (SNAP) benefits beginning November 1 are creating added hardship for thousands of neighbors across Santa Barbara County—families, children, and older adults who are already struggling to make ends meet. This fall, through our More Than Turkeys Virtual Food Drive, you can make a direct impact by helping provide nutritious groceries and pantry staples to those in need. Every dollar raised helps stock a neighbor’s shelves, ensuring everyone can enjoy a warm, filling meal this holiday season. Foodbank Need:

Across the country, uncertainty about the government shutdown has created financial pressures on families and individuals. Thousands of Santa Barbara County residents, including SNAP recipients, older adults, and federal workers facing paycheck delays, will turn to the Foodbank for help.

As the colder months set in, many local families face reduced work hours in agriculture and service industries, leading to financial strain and uncertainty. Across the U.S., hunger remains a persistent crisis, and here in Santa Barbara County, the Foodbank continues to support over 209,000 neighbors every year—a need that is only growing during these difficult times.

As families and older adults face rising costs and unstable food assistance, we’re preparing to purchase and source more food to meet the need. Many families may be seeking food assistance for the first time, and we will need to purchase additional food to meet this rising need.

Your gift goes further here. Every $1 you give becomes $5 worth of nutritious food—helping sustain our neighbors through the holiday season.
