What is Empty Bowls?
For a donation of $25 participants choose a beautiful handmade bowl, enjoy a simple meal of soup, bread and water, and take home the bowl as a reminder of the meal's purpose to feed the hungry in our community.
Where do the proceeds go?
Last year, the Foodbank provided 1,351,774 pounds of nutritious food (230,315 more meals than last year) to 16,229 children, families, seniors and adults in Lompoc. This was accomplished in partnership with 30 programs run by non-profit partners such as Catholic Charities, Good Sam, Cornerstone Church, Coast Valley Worship Center, CAC, Housing Authority, People's Self Help Housing, CALM and many more. The Foodbank also operates its own programs such as Brown Bag for seniors, Kid's Farmers Market, Mobile Farmers Market & Food Pantry and Healthy Community Pantry to support the nutritional health of Lompoc residents. All money raised from this event stays in Lompoc.
