Join the Foodbank for the 20th Annual Santa Barbara Empty Bowls
On November 12, 2017, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will welcome nearly 1,000 caring locals to the Ben Page Youth Center for the 20th annual Empty Bowls community lunch.
Empty Bowls demonstrates the value in feeding and nourishing one another – especially the most vulnerable among us – with a simple meal of soup from a handmade bowl. Each guest takes a handmade bowl home as a reminder of the meal's purpose: to help feed the hungry in our community. VIP Empty Bowls tickets include a large bowl handmade by artists Merillee Ford and Danyel Dean.
Soup and bread is made and donated by local gourmet restaurants. After your lunch, tour the Foodbank next door and learn about ways to get involved while enjoying coffee from The French Press and dessert from Rincon Catering.
Where do the proceeds go?
Empty Bowls benefits the Foodbank's operations and programming. Your support helps to fill shelves, fund community programs, and fuel trucks that deliver food throughout Santa Barbara County. For every $1 donated, the Foodbank can provide 8 nutritious meals.
